When they first started building the home, the Starnes were not planning on it being a Bed and Breakfast. However, they had many people stop in and ask if they could rent a room so they decided to make their home into a Bed and Breakfast. B.J. and Janice live upstairs with their dog Lucy. Upstairs they enjoy a music room complete with a jukebox from Atlanta that is filled with Elvis music and a pool table B.J. played on as a child. Lucy enjoys their elevator the most. It makes her journey between levels easier. Mr. Starnes stated, We want to be a part of the community. This is why he hopes to add on a gazebo where they can host outside concerts. They also hope to have a small restaurant beginning soon to offer the citizens of Van Buren County and around a somewhat upscale dining alternative. We welcome people to stop in and check us out, they commented. It is a clean, beautifully decorated Bed and Breakfast, which received a rare score of 100 from the Health Department. If you would like to stop in and check it out owners B.J. and Janice Starnes will gladly show you around. Life is too short not to have fun, remarks B.J. and this Bed and Breakfast defiantly demonstrates it. |
